According to the National Breast Cancer Foundation, breast cancer is the number one health crises for women in the United States. One in eight women will be diagnosed with breast cancer in their lifetime. As of today, there is no known cure, making early detection crucial. The National Breast Cancer Foundation is dedicated to providing free mammograms to women in all 50 states, reaching out to women who are uninsured and can’t afford the costs of screenings.

Gateway to Hope

Gateway to Hope is a breast cancer lifeline providing care for women who have breast cancer and lack quality insurance and the resources to obtain proper care. Gateway to Hope’s mission is centered on providing these women with comprehensive care and financial assistance.

Gateway to Hope services the individuals of Missouri. Since the organization’s founding nearly 10 years ago, over 700 patients have been connected to lifesaving breast cancer treatment. In 2014, alone, Gateway to Hope provided financial assistance to 204 individuals, a record high. Without the Gateway to Hope safety net many women would forgo or delay treatment and would die from breast cancer. Gateway to Hope is able to offer hope and healing to many women who may have never even consider the thought of help due to the high financial costs.

Happening September 17th, 2015, the Missouri March of Dimes is presenting the 23rd annual St. Louis Signature Chefs Auction. This is a night filled with fine food in the delightful atmosphere of the St. Louis Ritz Carlton. Guests have the opportunity to taste gourmet food prepared by some of the St. Louis area’s top chefs while bidding on exquisite items found in the silent and live auction.

This is the second year jenny present® has the honor of donating to the March of Dimes Signature Chefs Auction. This year jenny present® will be donating the gold Sashi earrings, these will be auctioned off in the silent auction.

Gilda’s Club NYC is a cancer support network for individuals who are living with cancer. The mission of Gilda’s Club is to support, educate and empower cancer patients and their families. Gilda’s Club NYC provides support groups, informational lectures and workshops for all who are impacted by the effects of cancer. This organization gives aid to women, men, teens and children.

Gilda’s Club NYC (GCNYC) was founded in 1995 in honor of Gilda Radner. Gilda was most famously known as a Saturday Night Live comedian. Her battle with ovarian cancer showed her the importance of a supportive community. It became Gilda’s dream that anyone who was touched by cancer would be able to find emotional and social support. After Gilda’s death in 1989 from ovarian cancer, her support network rallied together to bring about the organization known as Gilda’s Club.

The Gildie Awards: A Celebration of Life, Laughter & Courage

Gilda’s Club NYC hosts a variety of charity events throughout the year. The goal of these events is to raise money for the organization’s continual outreach programs and spread awareness of their mission.

Pink Gene Foundation

The Pink Gene Foundation’s mission surrounds helping young woman afford the costs associated with genetic testing to discover hereditary breast cancer. This preventive measure aids women who are potentially at high risk. Education and awareness lie at the backbone of this organization. Tera Martin, a current breast cancer fighter, developed the Pink Gene Foundation. Tara was diagnosed with stage 3B breast cancer at age 28. Read more about the Pink Gene Foundation here.

Bald & Beautiful Soiree

On December 4th, 2014, the Suite Restaurant and Lounge held the Pink Gene Foundation’s 2nd Annual Bald & Beautiful Soiree in Bellevue, Washington. This fundraiser was in honor of founder Tera Martin and Sophia Simpson-Verger who are battling stage 3 breast cancer. Local businesses and families came together to put on this extravagant event with a pink carpet entrance, shopping for a cause, silent auction, raffle, performances and more.

In addition to spreading awareness, the proceeds from this event were donated to a breast cancer research lab at the Fred Hutchinson Research Institute. The Bald & Beautiful Soiree was very successful in raising over $20,000.
